Luciana Paluzzi
Luciana Paluzzi is one of the many brunettes who were groomed to become international stars after the death of Gina Llobrigida. After appearing on both sides of the Atlantic during the 1950s, in films like Three Coins in the Fountain, (1954), and Sea Fury, (1958), Luciana Paluzzi was offered a chance at American TV fame in the role of Simone Genet in the spy weekly Five Fingers in 1959. When she was in 1965, she was invited by Bond producers and was a candidate for the lead girl Domino Derval's part in Thunderball. Terence Young, the director, offered to give her Fiona Volpe the role as the villain. She was one of the few women in the world who was able to stand up to the temptation of Mr. Fiona Volpe is killed in the midst of a dance floor by Bond's own friends, probably to make her pay for her actions. James then places her dead body near a table and asks "Do you want to see that my partner stays home?" This isn't her fault. Luciana Paluzzi was able to continue her European career through the 70s by directing this blockbuster. The films like Captain Nemo & The Underwater City (in 1969), The Six Million Dollar Man (in 1973) as well as The Klansman(in 1974) as well as The Greek Tycoon were all produced during that time.
